Rapturous Delight (2025)

Client: National Trust – Croome Court
Location: Croome Court, Worcestershire
Delivered: December 2025
Partner: leo&hyde

Each winter, Croome Court becomes a place of wonder — where nature, history and imagination meet in celebration of the seasons. In 2025, Rapturous Delight returned to the Long Gallery once again, inviting visitors into a festive sensory experience inspired by the remarkable landscapes and stories of Croome.

Created in collaboration with Leo & Hyde, Rapturous Delight was commissioned to bring Croome’s “Pages from Nature” theme to life, marking the 200‑year anniversary of the Hortus Croomensis, a 19th‑century guidebook to the estate’s extraordinary plant collection and parkland.

More Than a Light Show

Rapturous Delight isn’t just a projection — it’s an invitation to see Croome with fresh eyes.

Set within the graceful expanse of the Long Gallery, the installation transforms the walls and ceilings into a flowing canvas of seasonal motifs, botanical wonders and moments drawn from the unique natural heritage of the estate. Sound and imagery intertwine, drawing visitors into a sensory walk through the rhythms of Croome’s landscape — from winter hush to verdant bloom, all within a single evening.

By bringing the outside in, the work encourages a fresh kind of reflection: one that honours Croome’s history while celebrating its vibrant, living environment.

A Return Visit, Reimagined

After its debut in 2024, Rapturous Delight returns in 2025 with renewed energy and depth — a richer celebration of place, memory and imagination. As a seasonal experience, it resonates with families, local visitors and long‑time National Trust supporters alike, inviting shared wonder and quiet discovery in equal measure.

Whether encountered at twilight on a stroll through the parkland or as part of an evening visit through the Long Gallery, the installation creates moments that stay with people long after they leave — moments of delight, connection and surprise.

Creative Collaboration

We were thrilled to partner once more with Leo & Hyde, whose strength in crafting evocative soundscapes and narrative expression ensures that Rapturous Delight feels deeply human as well as visually dynamic. Their approach to recorded memory and sound design brings a lyrical quality to the experience, making the installation feel as much like a story unfolding as a spectacle to behold.

Together, we’ve built on the original vision, creating an experience that feels both familiar and newly alive — immersive, emotive and beautifully rooted in the fabric of Croome itself.

What Visitors Take Away

Visitors often describe Rapturous Delight as something magical — a chance to rediscover Croome’s grandeur and intimacy at the same time. The installation celebrates the estate’s landscapes, its natural history and its ability to inspire wonder across generations.

It’s an experience that exemplifies how places with deep histories can continue to surprise and delight, inviting reflection, joy and connection under one roof.
